At Jensen Eyecare Center we have proudly served patients in Iowa City, IA and the surrounding communities for almost 30 years. Our staff is truly committed to the vision health and well-being of our patients and families, and strives for the ultimate in ease and patient comfort, regardless of the procedure. Jensen Eyecare Center offers a compassionate, patient-first optometry style that sets us apart from most of our peers.
Our About Our Vision Providers:
Dave Jensen, OD
Dr. David Jensen is the third generation of Iowa optometrists in the Jensen family. While having over 30 years of experience, he is still as excited and committed to the profession and the patients as he was when he started. His college education included Iowa State University and Pacific University College of Optometry. After practicing two years in Portland Oregon, he returned to Iowa to establish his personal and professional roots.
His practice philosophy is to provide the patient with the newest technology and treatments, utilizing a highly-trained, certified staff and personalized instruction about their individual eye care needs. To achieve these goals, he has attended hundreds of hours of post-graduate training, focusing on medical treatment of eye disease, contact lens fitting and meeting unique needs of children.
Rebecca Aspholm, OD
Dr. Rebecca Aspholm is a recent graduate of the University of Missouri - St. Louis College of Optometry. During her time there, she was a member of the American Optometric Student Association, Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honor Society, and Dean's List honors. She spent much of her fourth year completing externships, learning about eye diseases and their treatment. She had the opportunity to travel to several community service clinics throughout St. Louis, as well as travel to the Kansas City, VA Medical Center to gain much-needed, hands-on clinical experience. She joined Jensen Eyecare Center, PLLC in the summer of 2010.

Vision therapy is a unique aspect of our practice, which is professionally administered by Erica Pasker, CPO, ABOC, who is our full-time vision therapist. This series of specialized treatment regimens can provide assistance for those children and adults whose visual systems require more aid than either glasses or contact lenses can offer. A few examples of these treatable difficulties are a turned eye, a lazy eye and reading difficulties.
